Lazy New Years Eve

As 10:30 approaches...I find myself still sitting in the recliner...lazy lazy lazy! I woke up rather early this morning to wait on Ben's arrival. He will be staying with Adam & I until Friday. Granny and Paw Paw are taking a much needed vacation for a couple of nights. We of course, are thrilled to have him here. In all this time I have been sitting here, I have been watching Ben play our new Wii !! Greatest thing we could have bought for the boys!(and ourselves) Ben has been playing constantly since he arrived!!

I try to still think of Ben as this sweet little toddler....but he is a very grown up 6 year old! (sob sob) I got tickled as he played the Wii so intensely. Then he shouted..." Quit kissin me you stupid thing!!" Something on the game he was playing was not goin just as he liked it! lol. He is so much like Adam! He follows him wherever he goes.

After playing the Wii for forever, he decided he wanted to help Adam rake leaves! He run up to me and begged to get to go outside. He added that he would wear his jacket and even his hood!! lol. Its funny to me, how he knows what I expect him to do. Lets me know that he does listen sometimes!

As most of you all know, me and Adam love that child more than anything! I honestly can't imagine how much I will love my own child, when I can love my (brother-in-law) this much! Don't get me wrong. We love Jake too. Adam has just raised Ben and they are closer than you can imagine. By the way... please pray for us as we deal with a 14 year old! I know they do not live with us, but they are with us a lot. Jake is a sweet boy...but the attitude of a 14 year old boy is just about to kill everybody. It doesn't help that me and Adam are only 20 & 21. I didn't plan on half way raising a 14 year old at the age of 21! But all of this was definitely God's plan and not mine!! But I love my life and wouldn't have it any other way.

Thank God that the boys have a great Granny & Paw Paw who have been willing to raise these boys! We couldn't have made it through all this without them!! I don't know what this post is actually about. I just sat down and started typing as I watched Ben play. Im sure I will have some hilarious stories to tell over the next few days with him being here!!

I hope everyone has a great last day of 2008!!

  1. Didn't I see you at Wal*Mart yesterday???:) What on earth was going on??? Why was it soooo crowded? You would think they were giving everything in the store away for FREE! I never imagined that or I would NOT have been there. I thought the big shopping days were over for now. NOT! I was there buying groceries and had to stand in line for like 30 minutes! Anyway, love your post about Ben, he is just the cutest little thing. He is lucky to have you and Adam! You will make a wonderful Mom. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and the family!

  2. Happy New Year Stranger! Miss you at work! Whether you see it or not you guys are great parents! The Lord knew what he was doing! You take such good care of those boys and I can't imagine how hard it is to raise kids that are not yours but they might as well be! As far as how much you will love your own kids.....lots and lots and lots and lots, but you will still love Ben and Jake the same as you always did! And btw...14 year olds are hard to deal with but I won't go into that story from the past! LOL!

    Love Ya!
